From the Vault - Sullivan's Quay

A quick post today with just pics and no analysis....

I've pulled a few old photos from the "vault" to post here.

These photos were all taken at or around Sullivan's Quay in Cork in June and August 2012....

Stories: Graffiti Spell-Checkers, Banksy's Background and Google Street Art

Hi all, I'm back again from winter hibernation...

Just a quick post today, sharing three graffiti-related stories I've seen online at the Smithsonian magazine online (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/).

The first is about vigilantes in Quito, Ecuador, (called Acción Ortografica Quito) that are on a mission to correct the spelling and grammar of graffiti artists and writers in the city:

"Vigilantes in Quito Have A Mission to Correct Graffiti Artists' Spelling and Grammar"

And here is a related article in Colors magazine online, with a gallery of good photos of examples of the corrections:

"The Graffiti Professors"

Closer to home, the Smithsonian has another article about the background of Banksy:

"The Story Behind Banksy"

Finally, I think I have already mentioned in a previous post how Google has a project underway to preserve street art. Well here is a Smithsonian article about it:

Also, here is a link to the actual Google project page....

That is all for now. Ciao.
